Over the past 5 years, Durga Tree’s impact has truly been felt around the world. Projects have included:
Helping to fund the build of a shelter for rescued girls in northern India
Housing and educating rescued girls at our partner shelters in India
India jewelry studio upgraded to new location and outfitted with tools and materials
Helping to fund a school build in Cameroon, West Africa, as well as guardhouse and classrooms
Built a kitchen and playground at a shelter in Guatemala City
Annual team visit to provide maintenance & support to girls and staff at the Guatemala shelter
Sponsored 500 children’s education in Cameroon, Thailand, and India
Providing the full funding for a two year jewelry training program for high-risk hill tribe women in Chiang Rai, Thailand
Funded a Native American education initiative in North Dakota
Provided backpacks with vital essentials for 200 runaway youth in the US
Educated over 2,000 American students about modern slavery and their relationship to it through consumerism
Providing long-term transitional housing, vocational training, and counseling to 9 survivors and their babies in Guatemala City
